Nearly a year in design and tooling, the Speargearshop sliptips are going to be available March 1.
Made of 17-4 stainless steel and heat treated to mil spec H9, these things have features that are hard to believe for the price. The cone tip is replaceable! You smack it against a rock of bone, simply unscrew it and replace just the cone. And if you only have a 3/8 cone for your 5/16 tip, no sweat, they’re threaded the same! The flopper is also a sliptip so when you don’t get the tip all the way through from those 20′ Hail Mary’s, the flopper can save you. Get this- the pin that retains the flopper also forms the anchor for the Spectra, no second holes to weaken the body of the tip!
The adapter is real special- there’s no need for the ball on the end of the adapter. The adapter and interior portion of the tip have a ramp shape that locates and locks onto the tip with no wobble and yet still releases with a slight tug or side pressure.
What this all means is that there’s a new tip available with killer features at less than what you pay for now, and what’s not smooth about that?!
We’re doing something right evidently!!
